Texas Power Spreads Christmas Cheer
Employees Hold Cookie Pary at Arlington Life Shelter

ARLINGTON, TX (December 2009) A dash of Christmas cheer came early for the children of the Arlington Life Shelter this year.

On December 16, Texas Power employees gathered with families of the shelter to decorate cookies, sing holiday carols and pass out treats. Once the cookies were all decorated (and leftover icing was ingested) the frosting-caked kids sang along to “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Twelve Days of Christmas” and other holiday favorites.

Event organizer and customer care manager for Texas Power, Debbie Graf, said, “A good time was had by all – especially the Texas Power crew.” As a special surprise, the North Texas Dance Stampede made an appearance, performing romping renditions of “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” and “Hey Santa”.

Texas Power employees also collectively made a donation to Arlington Life Center that will go to purchase gift cards; which will be given to the resident parents so that they can purchase a pair of shoes and socks for their children.

Eliza Draper, Children Services Coordinator, showed gratitude for the yuletide merriment spread throughout the shelter. “We’re just trying to get through the holidays. Thank you Texas Power! The party was a huge success!”
